don't-give-up your dream

“Don’t give up on your dreams!”

I’ve heard a lot of people say: “Don’t give up on your dreams!” – but what is that, if not a disguised way of getting frustrated with real life? After all, dreams are personal idealizations.

Gabi, for instance, idealized herself beside Saulo. But when he became Paulo, a man shaped by God’s ideal, she was disappointed.

When we idealize, we forget that we’re not the ones writing this story. God is. It’s as if a character wanted to decide her own plot… ignoring the author. 🤡

That’s why I hate this phrase. I’ve been disappointed by it too many times.
No, the answer is not to dream, but to seek God’s will and hold on to it. That’s when life makes sense.

P.S. Calm down, Gabi. You’ll still learn this in the series #PaulTheApostle
