By day, National Heroes Square in Bridgetown, Barbados is one of the busiest places on the island. Visitors from all over the world pass through to take photos, enjoy the view of the harbour and soak up the life of the capital.
But when the shops close and night falls, the square shows another face. It becomes a place of shelter for the less fortunate: men and women with nowhere else to go, searching for food and hoping for a new beginning. Most of the time, there is no one to care for them.

Who are the Night Angels?
The Night Angels are volunteers of the Universal Church who go out to the streets to serve people experiencing homelessness and hardship. They bring hot meals, water, a listening ear and, above all, the Word of God, reminding every person they meet that they have not been forgotten.
In Barbados, the team gathered at National Heroes Square to serve those who depend on this place to survive.

Meals, water and dignity
Volunteers arrived with packed meals and bottled water, set up tables and welcomed everyone who came. Each person was served with respect, and many stayed to talk, share their stories and receive prayer.
The aim was never only to fill an empty stomach. It was to restore dignity and hope to people who are often overlooked.

“For I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in.”
Matthew 25:35
We have to care for one another
As one of the volunteers said during the outreach, “We have to care about each other, because at the end of the day, we have souls in need of help.”
The outreach ended with a time of prayer. Many of those who had come for a meal raised their hands to God, opening their hearts to receive the salvation and new life that only He can give.

How you can help
The Night Angels can only reach more people with the support of others. You can join the team as a volunteer, donate food or water, or simply pray for those living on the streets. Every act of kindness helps someone in need take a step towards a new beginning.
